Exploring Texas CCLS Licensure

At the end of 2024, the SACLP Board of Directors met twice with the licensing task force lead and SACLP member, Cinda McDonald, to better understand the purpose of licensing. Following those meetings and Board discussions, the SACLP Board of Directors unanimously voted to endorse the initiative to license child life specialists in the state of Texas. Please see the formal letter of endorsement below. The professional licensing of Texas based child life specialists is also recommended by the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Advisory Council of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
